Monarflex Breather membranes

The breather membranes (Diffusion open roofing underlay) offered by Monarflex are either made from 100% polypropylene (PP) or from a combination of polypropylene (PP) with a coating of special co-polymer plastics.
The 100% PP based product is composed of a micro porous film in a sandwich construction of protective spun bonded polypropylene. The second type of breather membrane provided by Monarflex is a high quality coated product consisting of one layer PP spun bond which is added a top coating layer of special co-polymer, giving the product breath ability and water tightness.

All the materials used to produce the Monarflex roofing underlay products are from virgin material, hence no recycled material is used.

Monarflex breather membrane product portfolio:
• MONARPERM® 500
• MONARPERM® 700
• MONARPERM® 800
• MONARPERM® 900

The MONARPERM 500 and 700 products are our laminated breather membranes made from 2 layers of polypropylene spun bond and on layer of micro porous polypropylene film (breathable layer).

The MONARPERM 800 and 900 are all coated 2 layer system membranes made from either a Polypropylene or Polyester spun bond material with an acrylic co-polymer coating on top (breathable layer).

Before choosing the appropriate roofing underlay for your type of construction consider the below points in order to zoom in on the best product to suit your specific needs.

• What kind of exterior roof material is used? Can UV (sun light) shine in on the roofing underlay or not?
• The construction type must be considered, is it a ventilated or non-ventilated construction?
• Is it a boarded or non boarded (only rafters) roof construction?
• Angle of the roof slope
• Duration of the construction period where the roofing underlay will be exposed to conditions of the weather e.g. sun light, rain, snow, wind etc.
• Climate conditions should be considered – condensation build-up during the seasons.
• Position of the building, e.g. sea site or in land site
